Bella Thorne has been publicly reprimanded by an unexpected acting-world colleague: Rob Lowe. Apparently unaware that deadly mudslides in Santa Barbara Country caused the closure of the 101 freeway in California, Thorne tweeted about how the road closure was terribly inconvenient for her.
“F— u 101 to Santa Barbara,” she wrote in a now-deleted tweet. “I’m missing my boyfriend’s first date on his tour.”
Once she found out the reason for the closure — or after negative response to it — she tweeted, “F— just caught up on some news had no idea why the 101 was shut down…get home to your family safe.”
Lowe caught a screenshot of the tweet (not shown here for its profanity) and posted it to his Instagram account, captioned, “This attitude is why people hate celebrities/Hollywood. Bella, I’m sorry you were inconvenienced. We will try to move out our dead quicker.”
Lowe, who lives in Montecito (which Oprah Winfrey also calls home) has been a public face fighting the wildfires and now mudslides in Santa Barbara County. He invited a whole crew of firefighters into his house for dinner last month after helping them during the day as a gesture of thanks for their unrelenting hard work saving homes and lives.
