Bethenny Frankel is still working tirelessly to provide relief to hurricane victims in Puerto Rico and surrounding islands from last year’s natural disasters via her B Strong nonprofit organization, and now The Real Housewives of New York City humanitarian has expanded her focus to Guatemala in the wake of the Fuego volcano eruption, which has killed at least 72 people and displaced thousands more.
B Strong was one of the first relief organizations on the ground in Puerto Rico, and Bethenny has flown to Guatemala personally to assist — with a bag full of cash cards. She embarked on the journey without hesitation — until she got on the plane and saw that it was totally empty, which fueled her nerves.
“If we don’t laugh, we cry,” she said in a video posted to her Instagram Stories. “The entire plane is empty. I texted someone saying, ‘Who the f— is going into an active volcano? Like, no one is flying into that. Sorry, it’s not funny at all, but I have to laugh ’cause I’m so nervous.”
Bethenny took to her Instagram to help mobilize more support and donations to B Strong so it can continue helping people directly with relief supplies and cash cards, which she says afford people some dignity and freedom of personal choice to meet their needs.
