Neighbourhood Diaries: A Day in Auckland’s Northcote Point

Bravo NZ's Cath Lewis shares where to eat, drink and play on the North Shore.

Neighbourhood Diaries is Bravo’s new lifestyle series, exploring the ins and outs of New Zealand suburbs as told by the people who know them best. Below, we round up the perfect way to spend a day in Northcote Point on Auckland’s North Shore—including where to get the best steak frites in town.

9.30am – Kick off the weekend with a great coffee and a yummy breakfast at Northcote Point café fave, Billy. For something healthy, try the smashed avo or a smoothie bowl, otherwise treat yourself to a bacon and egg roll.

$: $20

11am – Stroll down to Little Shoal Bay. There’s a great playground that keeps the kids entertained, while you can relax and take in the city view. Great bush walks, too.

$: $0

3pm – Head to the historical Northcote Tavern for a cold beer in their famous garden bar. It’s right next to the Auckland Harbour Bridge, so check that out too!

$: $10
